Brands We’ve Worked With
Michael Mauro
I've spent years working with recruitment assessments, seeing how they're designed and what employers are actually trying to measure.
I've also seen what happens on the other side. People who have the skills to do the job, but don't know how to navigate the assessment process.
That's why I built Landed Lab. So that capable candidates don't lose out because they didn't understand the hiring process.
Why it matters.
Our research found that 57% of young candidates couldn’t tell what employers were actually measuring in psychometric assessments. Just 11% said they found situational judgement tests clear and fair.
For people entering the workforce, applying for internships or work placements, including those who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), that lack of understanding can become another barrier to getting through the door.
That’s a problem.
Landed Lab makes the process less of a mystery. It gives people the chance to understand what they’re being assessed on, practice realistic scenarios and learn from their answers, before it matters.
What are you actually being assessed on?
What makes one answer better than another?
What are employers actually looking for?
Landed Lab assesses your responses against expert-designed frameworks across five core dimensions:
Critical Thinking
Analysing information objectively, evaluating evidence, and reaching well-reasoned conclusions under pressure.
Identifying root causes, generating solutions, and implementing an effective course of action with incomplete information.
Problem Solving
Making sound decisions in ambiguous situations, balancing competing priorities, acting without waiting for certainty.
Judgement
Collaboration
Working effectively with others, navigating interpersonal dynamics, contributing to group outcomes.
Managing workload under pressure, seeking feedback proactively, taking responsibility for personal development.
Self-Management
Practice before it matters
Getting better at these assessments isn't about memorising the right answers.
It's about understanding how you're approaching different situations and having the chance to practice before it counts.
